Meet the Teacher Day: A pre-recorded video message for my new class

We all remember the excitement and anticipation of meeting our new teacher

Towards the end of the summer term, teachers get their class list for September, and pupils find out who their new teacher will be. ‘Meet the Teacher Day’ is an exciting event in the school calendar, where pupils spend a morning with their new teacher. Unfortunately, I had university lectures on my ‘Meet the Teacher Day’, so I was unable to meet my class in person. However, I recorded a short video message for them and emailed it over. It was a bit of a flashback to the countless pre-recorded video messages that I produced in tele :).  

The ‘Meet Your Teacher Day’ followed my employment days, which really helped me to script the message. I purposefully used language that I'd heard teachers using in my school and words that I knew were part of their teaching dialogue.
